Lasers in Dentistry, M.Sc.

Whether in the European Union, China, Japan, Canada, Iran, or Saudi Arabia - dentists all over the world trust the dental education at RWTH Aachen when pursuing continuing education. Module on site with additional e-learning studies at home make it possible: established dentists can complete the continuing education Master's in Lasers in Dentistry at RWTH International Academy in two years while working.

The course of study, which has been offered since September 2004, even trains dentists in the United Arab Emirates to become laser specialists. "It is a great accomplishment for Dubai Health Care City, that RWTH Aachen established this program in Dubai," said Sultan Abdulaziz Al Mugarin happily about the cooperative agreement. Due to its excellent reputation in continuing education, RWTH came out on top against other competitors and is catering to dentists' increasing interests in continuing education possibilities. In order to acquire the title Master of Science in Lasers in Dentistry from RWTH Aachen, participants must pass ten modules on site, the e-learning studies at home, examinations, and a final Master's thesis. "In the beginning it wasn't always easy for us, since no one had dared such a program in this field before. Due to the large intake however, we quickly knew that our content and the organization couldn't be so wrong," said Prof. Dr. med. dent. Norbert Gutknecht, professor at the Department of Conservative Dentistry, Parodontology, and Preventative Dentistry at the University Hospital and Head of the Course of Study, reflecting on the successful expansion of participants in the past two years.
