The START Program
Call for proposals date
From 15 June 2023, the START portal will be online for the submission of applications in the current round.
Extended deadline is 17 July 2023, as the deadline falls on a Saturday.
In the context of the Research Innovation Program in the mid-90s, the NRW Ministry of Science and Research recommended a structural measure, which established itself as the START Program in our faculty. The aim is to support innovative individual projects by young researchers who have completed their doctorate but not yet acquired their habilitation (post-doctoral lecturing qualification).
The aim of the funding measures is always the acquisition of external third-party funds as well as a resulting publication as initial financing.
AG START and other members of the faculty carry out the review of the applications.
The START portal
START applications are submitted exclusively via the new START portal of the Research Dean's Office. You can reach the portal at https://startportal.ukaachen.de.
To prepare your application, you will soon find many useful tips and all the necessary documents in the download area. If you encounter any problems with the registration, please contact start@ukaachen.de.
