Supporting Women on the Path to Habilitation

The RWTH Faculty of Medicine promotes women's scientific careers in different ways. The following funding opportunities are specifically available for those on the path to habilitation:

1. Habilitation Scholarships

This funding measure is targeted towards female scientists active in clinical practice, who are pursuing habilitation.

The funding encompasses the following for a maximum of three years

  • funding for a part-time position to allow the applicant to pursue the habilitation,
  • a stipend in addition to the salary, to be used for childcare, domestic aid, conference costs, and the like; the amount of the stipend depends on the applicant's personal situation and varies between 300 Euros and 1,000 Euros per month.

Additionally, applicants automatically participate in the mentoring program TANDEMplusMED.

2. Habilitation Stipend

This funding measure is open to both female scientists who are active in clinical practice and those who are not and are on the path to habilitation.

Applicants receive the following for a maximum of three years

  • a stipend in addition to the salary, to be used for childcare, domestic aid, conference costs, and the like; the amount of the stipend depends on the applicant's personal situation and varies between 300 Euros and 1,000 Euros per month.

These applicants also participate in the mentoring program TANDEMplusMED.
