Dr. rer. medic. Degree

Recommendations for authorship

The Faculty Council has updated the Recommendations for authorship in publications.

The Faculty of Medicine has the authority to award doctoral degrees. The Faculty awards the degree "doctor of theoretical medicine" or Doctor rerum medicinalium, Dr. rer. medic. for short.

By completing a doctorate, candidates demonstrate they have completed at least two years of research and contributed to an advancement in scientific findings. Moreover, they have to prove their expertise in an oral exam.

The Faculty awards the doctoral degree upon successful completion of the doctoral studies process.

On these pages you can find instructions for the six steps of the doctoral studies process.
