Gender Medicine Working Group
Due to the growing important of different gendered perspectives in medicine, the Gender Medicine Working Group was founded in January 2010 at the RWTH Faculty of Medicine.
The goal of the working group is the consideration of the category "gender" in research, practice, and teaching at the RWTH Aachen Faculty of Medicine, in order to permanently increase the quality of healthcare.
For this purpose the working group has held the Gender Medicine lecture series, which is certified with advanced education points, since winter semester 10/11. It is targeted towards professionals, students, and the public.
As its next task the working group aims at more strongly integrating gender aspects into the core curriculum of the model course of study. A gender perspective must be integrated in all medical subjects for medicine to be successful in the future. Gender Medicine is a cross-cutting issue that needs to become an anchor of medical training!
