Course of Study Layout

Studies for the Aachen "Modellstudiengang Medizin" (Model degree program of medicine) are broken down into ten semesters and a culminating practical year. In the first two semesters, the students' knowledge is homogenized. Clinical content first appears starting in the third semester in the second section of studies. This clinical content is taught closely together with basic theoretical knowledge. The third section is dedicated solely to clinical content, whereby block internships form the backbone of this section. The fourth section is made up of the practical year, just like in the typical course of study at other universities.
