Dentistry in Aachen includes an integrative approach during the initial semesters of the preclinical. Since the medicine course of study was turned into a model course of study starting winter semester 2003/04, the opportunity was used to adjust the courses in both of the first semesters to the "Modellstudiengang Medizin" (Model degree program of medicine). The organ-centered system blocks, such as nerve systems in the fourth semester, scheduled to start in the third semester of the "Modellstudiengang Medizin" (Model degree program of medicine) are also used in the sub-discplines of dentists for education in physiology and anatomy.

The implementation of the four clinical courses and polyclinical in restorative dentistry and prosthodontics takes place over the course of multiple semesters in Aachen as a course and polyclinical in restorative dentistry in the Department of Restorative Dentistry, Paradontolgy, and Preventative Dentistry, and the Department of Dental Prosthetics, Implantology, and Biomaterials.
