Branch Library of the RWTH Aachen University Library
The Medical Library was founded in 1966, together with the Faculty of Medicine, as an administratively independent, but other integrated department of the RWTH Aachen University Library. As the new university hospital was finished in Aachen, the library received its own space among the departments, research departments, and student training rooms. It was officially opened on February 28, 1983.
It is supported by the Integrated Media Processing for Medicine or IMB for the acquisition and cataloging of media. Aside from its own holdings, the Medical Library also administers, coordinates, and records the acquisitions of approximately 80 medical institute and departmental libraries. Thus, it is the central service office for the Faculty of Medicine's entire reference management.
Use of the library follows the terms of use from October 10, 2010 (RWTH Aachen official announcement, 2010/078).
