The next Talk Lehre will take place on June 17, 2020.

Talk Lehre was initiated in 2011 at the request of teachers and student representatives. The annual event informs teachers in particular, but also students and other interested university members, about the implementation of the Excellent Teaching institutional strategy. It also enables dialogue about teaching related topics on a larger platform.

Talk Lehre 2019 – Internationalization in Teaching and Learning

This year the focus of Talk Lehre will be on internationalization in teaching and learning. In addition to a poster exhibit and various lectures, selected projects and best practice examples will be presented to show how students are being taught at RWTH Aachen. Furthermore, the 2019 RWTH Lecturers of the Year titles will be awarded. With Professor Bernd Scholz-Reiter, Rector of the University of Bremen and Vice President for International Affairs of the German Rectors' Conference, we are happy to have again found a distinguished expert to be our guest speaker at the event. Please refer to the agenda for detailed program information.

If you would like to participate in the event, please register by May 31, 2019.

Diverse Topics

So far Talk Lehre has taken place seven times with up to 200 participants. The topic of focus changes every year. The Excellent Teaching contest of the Stifterverband für die deutsche Wissenschaft was the focus the first year. In 2012, the conversation revolved around all new teaching and learning media. 2013 was about the beginning of studies, that is the transition from school to university and qualification in teaching. Blended Learning was the focus in 2014, while in 2015, the discussion centered on the topics of quality management as well as digitalization in teaching and learning. In 2017, the focus lay on the digitalization of teaching.
