Translational Neurosciences
The focus Translational Neurosciences examines emerging phenomena such as neuronal plasticity using computational neurosciences, emotion and cognition, and sensory and motor functions. However it also looks at the regulation of psychotic and neurodegenerative diseases.
A close collaboration exists with Forschungszentrum Jülich through the Jülich Aachen Research Allicance or JARA. As a result of the collaboration, clinics and departments involved in this focus have full access to the research infrastructure and objects of the Forschungszentrum.
In the future, this focus will increasingly combine large imaging compentences with molecular concepts, for example in IRTG 2150, and computational neurosciences. Computational neurosciences include a range of perspectives from the molecular to systemic and explore the simulation of neuronally relevant proteins as well as machine learning approaches in large imaging data sets.
